Happy Birthday Bro. You the Coolest!

This link gives me some piece of mind.

When I was a young lass I admired my brothers ability to draw. He'd create these detailed drawings of army men and assassins fighting each other on battles ships. You could stare at them for aggges and still discover new little 'scenarios' occurring between the characters he'd drawn.

Sooo as young sister who admired their brothers actions... I decided to take my own spin on his ideas. Make them my own.
At the age of 7 I would draw these massive monsters vs human massacres. Creatures would be fighting for their lives, squashing people under their feat and so on. Filled with detailed blood splatters and made up weaponry.
Sure enough I came home one day and my parents told me I needed to stop drawing these disturbing images in class time.

I was pretty embarrassed, I tried to draw another one in class after the fact but my teacher caught me. I was buuusteeed.

I really wish I had a copy of those drawings.
I enjoy the humour in it all. Being seven just wanting to draw COOL things like my COOL brother, only to realise that drawing them in a catholic school environment.. probably not so wise.

Still keen to recreate a kick as Monster Vs Human drawing soon. I shall dedicate it to my brother!

Happy Birthday bro!

kickstART markets

Saturday was the day! Melissa and I rocked the markets with amazing stuff and things!

Really enjoyed the atmosphere of the day, and loved talking to all sorts of different people about design and such.

It's given me a boost of confidence in a way. Having complete strangers come up and say something as simple as "that's so cool!" made me feel all warm and fuzzy! Heh

IN COLUSION! It was a very good day, and I hope to do more markets in the future. Twas very rewarding

Took a few happy snaps on the day that I shall now share :)

Here's our stall set up..

The Image immediately above and below are items that my friend Melissa sold on the day. She went really well. Her greeting cards went off like a frog in a sock! Love her illustrations

Annd below are some shot's of my stuff. Wallets and prints both sold really well, along with my original ink house drawings

And I made profit! WIN

Markets

My friend mel and my fine self, got accepted to participate in a youth festival market!
Yay.
We applied and hoped for the best. The best happened.
This will be the first time i've done anything like this, pretty excited. My mind keeps ticking over with ideas. What to seelll how to sell it. Packaging. Making things look sexy n shit!

Yeah. Should be an interesting experience. Hopefully a successful one at that.

I'm going to make my own colouring book. Hellah keen on that idea. Something i've wanted to do for a while so thought i'd try it out now. Seems fitting. Youth, colouring, childhood memories come flooding back.

I'm going to print it all from home which means double sided printing... which leads to brain explosions.
Was testing it out last night... lord. I think it's my poor simple mind. I just can't seem to get things right the first time. ever.

Rather than figure it out before printing I printed to figure it out. yep. Trial and error....
Was very much error, error, trial, success, error. But after an unhealthy amount of time I managed to get a mockup sorted. yeaaah... winnerrr.
So I'm sure you'll hear more about this sooon.

One page from my colouring bewwk. Just black and white for all your colouring needs

That's my name don't wear it out! Logo, a working progress.

Melbourne Trip!

Always love a Melbourne getaway
Just spent the long weekend over there with the male friend I like heaps. Was goood timess. We escaped the heat wave of Perth! ... almost..kinda.. not really.
We did sooo much walking my shins hurt (such an unfit human)... and a lot of eating and drinking to counteract the healthy walks :)

So here are a few snaps of the trip. Mainly buildings and some kick ass art that I found on the walls.
old buildings make me happpyyy.
